DIY Appetising Potato Dishes.

March 18, 2015

The great Potato, regarded as one of the super foods when baked and eaten.  How do we make them look more appealing and cook them in a different way?  Appetising potato dishes are both fun to concoct and can be really healthy to eat. We now know that a  potato is full of nutritional goodness.  They are fat-free, sodium free and cholesterol free.  These three factors alone make the great potato a perfect food source.  Add to this the fact that they are loaded with potassium, vitamin C, fiber, vitamin B6 and iron all confirm that we would all benefit from this perfect tuber.

One of the problems we can have is that potatoes can look quite boring on our plate.  As adults, we accept this, and as we know they are good for us so we just eat them as presented.  We all love a baked potato for instance, but seriously, how appetising does it look on our plates? We all know that kids can be finicky, so how do we make more appetising potato dishes that the kids will love?   Whilst looking for a new recipe, I came across this fabulous video which totally changes the way we serve a baked potato.

Can you see the beauty of this?  The main benefit, apart from looking and tasting delicious, is that kids will love them!  I can’t think of a better way of ensuring our kids get a great dose of nutrition.

The recipe for this fabulous potato can be found below

There are so many appetising potato dishes. For this post, I am wanting to stay fairly traditional and keep the recipes fairly simple and easy.  We all love roast potatoes so let’s take a look at a different recipe.
