DIY curb appeal comes with a lot of advantages. What it really means is how your house looks to someone that is standing on the sidewalk in front of your house. This is curb appeal. Now to you of course you are proud of your abode, or at least you want to be, and this may mean beefing up the looks from the front of your house. You are probably more familiar with the term curb appeal as it is used when you are potentially thinking about selling your house, or out looking to buy one.
Once you start taking a look at these DIY curb appeal ideas you will be surprised at just how many different components actually make up this front view of your home.
Lets start with the door as this is usually the most obvious and can have a dramatic impact in that it can draw the onlooker’s eye first.
Making a statement with color:
If you are going to make the door your focal point the best way to accomplish this is with color. That doesn’t mean that it should be glaring but it can be bold but should also fit in well with the rest of the front color scheme. For example, if you have green trim are you sure you would want to go with a screaming orange front door?

Remember that there are warm and cool colors to choose from. Once you decide that you are going to make the color of your front door your focal point for your curb appeal you want to make sure that the rest of the look enhances and compliments the front door and doesn’t fight against it. As we mentioned don’t forget to take into account any other color you may have exposed such as your trim. If this isn’t a neutral color then be very careful that your new front door color isn’t going to clash.

Think Outside the Box With Before and Afters:
If you really want to make a difference with your curb appeal you need to do some visualization. This comes easier for some people than others. If you take just a few minutes to think about it though you will be surprised at just how much you can create an image in your mind of what the changes you are thinking of making will look like.
Here are some before and afters that are really stunning:

As you can see although there were several changes made they really weren’t expensive ones. What pops out most is the vibrant yellow, yet at first without visualizing this plus the additional changes it might be a color that you would be terrified to use.
Don’t let that concrete deter you:
