Most of  us have at least one wall in our home that no matter what we do with it, it just doesn’t seem to have any character. We have tried pictures and maybe even different forms of textures, but it just doesn’t seem to have any wow factor to it.

Chances are you are putting all of your efforts into trying to make this wall blend it rather than making it the focal point.

Here are some ideas for you to try:

Picture Splitting:

You can have a lot of fun with this idea.

Project one:

Find a inexpensive print of a picture that you like.

You will need to study it well and see if you can cut it down the center to make two pictures out of.

Then you want to mount each piece on frameless picture boards.

Hang them on the wall with just a small but noticeable gap between them.

This automatically draws the attention from the wall to the picture, and viewers find it intriguing with the gap being noticeable yet the pictures are one.

This will solve the problem of your drab wall getting the wrong attention.

Project two:

Picture story telling:

A single picture tells a story. For example this pictures depicts a stormy night:

Now when you combine the two pictures side by side even though they are similar it can take the train of thought from a sunny day to a stormy one or vice versa. The pictures that once told a single story, are now telling a combined one. You want to trim both pictures and mount them on a frameless picture board leaving a small gap inbetween.
